Girls Rule at Junior Achievement of South Florida connects inspirational women role models in our community with local high school girls from select partner schools. Through mentorship, these girls will hone their leadership skills, explore all that women can be, learn to embrace their dreams and start their journey to success.

Theresa Bowe is a mother, author, serial entrepreneur, philanthropist, music executive and a successful luxury real estate agent. After almost a decade of dating she married her best friend, former NFL wide receiver Dwayne Bowe.

Born and raised in Long Island, NY, Theresa was the product of a single parent household, being the last of 8 children. She has conquered and overcome many personal obstacles in her life and wanted to do more to ensure that her legacy would sustain the longevity for her family. Finding her escape thru sports, she earned a college track scholarship, and it was there that Theresa began her entrepreneurship journey. Starting with the purchase of her first business, a wine and spirits boutique, she went on to owning a mobile car wash, a premium wig boutique and established her first charity organization “Love My Hair for Kids”. After establishing a successful independent career, she met Dwayne who was later drafted as a first-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft to the Kansas City Chiefs.

On March 9th, JA hosted its annual Girls Rule: Ignite Your Superpower event, which welcomed 200 local high school girls to participate in a day of inspiring workshops and motivational speakers, including keynote speaker Rachel McKenzie, a bold entrepreneur and wife of former Super Bowl champion Michael Terrance McKenzie, and Dr. Yvette Maureen, a 5-time author, TEDx speaker and entrepreneur. 

This year the event included its first “Dress for Success” runway fashion show where 15 students modeled business fashions. Student models were sponsored by members of the Circle of Wise Women, and kept the outfits to begin building their professional wardrobes.
